What Bridgeplay does.

Everything a Windows game needs on a Mac, already wired into Steam.

Built by Raymond Chin · Jakarta · on NotProton

Plays inside Mac Steam

Windows games sit in the library you already have and start with Play. They run in Wine under Rosetta 2.

DirectX 12 on Metal

Apple’s D3DMetal runs DirectX 11 and 12 on your Mac’s GPU. The game keeps speaking DirectX.

DLSS, answered by MetalFX

Games on D3DMetal see an NVIDIA card by default, so DLSS shows up. Apple’s toolkit runs it on MetalFX.

Frame generation

Up to 3× displayed frames, with a little added latency. Off by default. Turn it on per game.

Any controller

DualSense, Xbox, GameSir and more. No mapping screen between you and the game.

Full Retina, one switch

Off by default, because it is slower. High Resolution draws at your display’s real pixels.

Setup

Guided install. One step at a time.

The installer is under 1 MB. It fetches Bridgeplay, Apple’s graphics, the engine, and Steam. You sign in once and confirm a couple of ordinary macOS prompts.

  1. 01

    Download the installer

A small file. The engine and graphics, about 570 MB, arrive while it installs.

  2. 02

    Open Bridgeplay Installer

Allow it once in Privacy & Security. The download’s read-me shows where.

  3. 03

    Follow the Setup Assistant

Mac, Rosetta, graphics, then Steam. Pick a Windows game and press Play.
