Core capabilities

Everything a Windows game needs on a Mac, already wired into Steam.

Plays inside Mac Steam

Windows games sit in your Mac Steam library and start with Play. They run in Wine under Rosetta 2. No bottles, no second launcher.

DirectX 12 on Metal

Apple D3DMetal runs DirectX 11 and 12 on the Mac GPU.

DLSS, answered by MetalFX

On D3DMetal the game sees an NVIDIA card by default, so DLSS appears. Apple’s toolkit runs it on MetalFX — rendered 1512×982, shown 3024×1964.

Experimental frame generation

Up to 3× displayed frames, with a little added latency. Off by default. Per game.

Any controller

DualSense, Xbox, GameSir and more, with no mapping screen.

Full Retina

High Resolution is one switch, off by default because it is slower.

Steam-side switches

Inside a running game

These are illustrations of the real Steam-side switches. The names match what you see while a Windows game is running.
